This book was the result of a typography project for which the prompt was simply to design an edition of an anthology. I positioned the content around the theme of tension — tension between reality and science fiction, flesh and machine. The title I chose — Gristle Gun — is an homage to David Cronenberg's 1999 film eXistenZ. The volume spans sixty pages of prose, nonfiction, and critical writing. The concluding piece on Matthew Barney's Cremaster 5 was penned by me a few years back.
