EXPLODED HIPSTER

For the 2012 Hopscotch Music Festival, Yuxtapongo collaborated on a 70-foot installation comprised entirely of clothing donated to the project by members of the Hopscotch community, broadly speaking — musicians, fans, and friends. The collaborative mural presented the community’s constructed image back to itself, revealing an often-overlooked historical depth to the scene. It asked questions about the relationship of appearance to identity, especially in commodified spaces.

Yuxtapongo artists for this project were Lincoln Hancock, Robin Vuchnich, Neill Prewitt, Eleanor Blake, and Mollie Earls.
