Design Thinking Poster Project

Our graduate studio at NC State was tasked in the fall of 2008 with creating a series of sixteen posters explicating the notion of "design thinking." Each assigned with a subtopic, we went to work creating large (35X70") panels representing the notion through texts, diagrams, and case studies. Ask a group, we settled on a type family and a loose grid structure (since we knew these panels would comprise an exhibition).

In mid-September, we installed the panels in a gallery in the design school's Leazar Hall. But the exhibition was only part of the plan — we also transferred our designs to downloadable PDFs, printable on plain letter paper. Every piece will be available for download on the Cooper-Hewitt's website, for use by educators and others interested in these ideas.

My poster focuses on the notion of "Rules and Constraints":
