YUXTAPONGO began in 2009 as a juxtaposition-based television show created by Neill Prewitt and a diverse cast of local, national, and international artists and musicians. I was a semi-regular contributor to the program, which was broadcast on Public Access TV channels in Raleigh and Chapel Hill. Some of the videos I made for broadcast are in the links below.
Neill and I began that same year collaborating on a series of installations that repurposed and remixed YUXTAPONGO contributions to create compelling new experiences in gallery spaces. As our work and collaborations grew in the years to follow, we began to use the YUXTAPONGO name to cover certain projects that captured the spirit of the original TV program. (HIGHLIFE and EXPLODED HIPSTER were team-based projects conducted under the YUX umbrella.)
